The teaser trailer for The Marvels showed us some of the action, the new Marvel movie villain, and the excitement that fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe have come to expect.
Fans were teased with the idea that Brie Larson, Teyonah Parris, and Iman Vellani might have to work together because they keep switching roles. They stick together until the job is done so they can figure out what's going on. It also showed us a lot of the characters who will be making their first appearances in the MCU when the movie comes out this fall.

New Marvel Movie Villain Revealed On The Teaser

Marvel Studios' The Marvels | Teaser Trailer

The villain of The Marvels is a mysterious person who has a lot to do with the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The sequel to Captain Marvel comes out in Phase 5 as part of the Multiverse Saga, but its main plot does not focus on different universes and versions.
In The Marvels, we see how the lives and powers of Carol Danvers (Brie Larson), Monica Rambeau (Teyonah Parris), and Kamala Khan (Iman Vellani) get mixed up. Even though the movie might be mostly about the three of them making new friends, fixing old ones, and so on, they will also work together to fight a bad guy. There are still a lot of questions about who the bad guy in The Marvels is and what they want.
Zawe Ashton was cast as the villain in The Marvels in early 2021 when it was first reported that the actress from Velvet Buzzsaw and The Handmaid's Tale would be joining the MCU. The first report didn't say much about the character, other than that she would be the main bad guy in the sequel to Captain Marvel.
The casting was confirmed by Marvel Studios in the end, but Kevin Feige and the rest of the Marvel team didn't say who her character was. Zawe Ashton's name as a bad guy has been a mystery for over two years, and even the teaser trailer for The Marvels doesn't answer the question.
In the trailer, Dar-Benn is seen picking up an Accuser's hammer, which suggests that she will have a military background like her comic book counterpart. Later, we see her fight against the three heroes who are traveling through space. This may be the climax of the movie.
The fight seems to take place in the same place where Danvers talked to the Kree Supreme Intelligence in Captain Marvel. This suggests that Dar-Benn may want to get back at Danvers for attacking the Supreme Intelligence. We should get a more comic-accurate version of the Supreme Intelligence, not just Annette Benning if that's the case.
Fans will also see Park Seo-Joon, who is known for his role in Parasite, for the first time as a deep-cut Captain Marvel character. There are shots of an alien world in the trailer that wouldn't look out of place in a Bollywood film. In these scenes, we see Park giving orders to a group of soldiers while he has long hair. It is said that Park will play Prince Yan of the planet Aladna, who has only been in a few comic books.
In the comic book version of Aladna, everyone speaks in rhymes, which seems to have been turned into a colorful song and dance numbers for the movie. Yan's story is also about a misunderstood marriage proposal involving the X-Men character Lila Cheney and, later, Captain Marvel herself. This could be how the trip to this faraway planet fits into the story.

Conclusion

Like most Marvel Cinematic Universe movies, the upcoming sequel to Captain Marvel, The Marvels, brings back old characters. The first trailer for the 2023 movie shows all of these characters. The new Marvel movie villain of the movie, Kree warrior Dar-Benn, played by English actor Zawe Ashton in this trailer for the first time, is less well-known, even to comic book fans.
Ashton is only seen in a few quick shots, but it looks like she is holding a Cosmi-Rod like the one Ronan the Accuser used. In another short scene, she fights with Carol Danvers, Monica Rambeau, and Kamala Khan. Each time they attack, they switch places. In the sequel to 2019's Captain Marvel, the three of them will work together to stop a new cosmic event and figure out why their powers are all tied together.
