Because of how Lizzo treated her, a filmmaker quits Lizzo documentary. Sophia Nahli Allison, a director from Los Angeles who was nominated for an Oscar, wrote on Twitter on Tuesday that Lizzo was "abuse of power" during the short time they worked together.
Sophia Nahli Allison spoke out on X (formerly Twitter) on August 2 after hearing that Lizzo is being sued by three of her former dancers for, among other things, sexual, religious, and racial abuse, discrimination against people with disabilities, assault, and false imprisonment.

Lizzo's Former Documentary Director Calls Her 'Arrogant, Self-Centered and Unkind'

Sophia Nahli Allison, a director who said she worked with Lizzo a few years ago, said that the pop star "treated her with such disrespect" that she quit the job after only about two weeks.
Allison posted about her claims on social media Tuesday night, not long after hearing that three of Lizzo's former dancers had sued the singer for sexual abuse and making the workplace unsafe. The case is about things that are said to have happened between 2021 and 2023, but Allison says she worked with Lizzo in 2019.
Allison wrote in her post that she traveled with Lizzo for a while "to be the director of her documentary."She said she left "after about 2 weeks,"citing the musician's reportedly rude behavior: Allison wrote:
I witnessed how arrogant, self-centered, and unkind she is. I was not protected and was thrown into a shitty situation with little support. My spirit said to run as fast as you fucking can and I’m so grateful I trusted my gut.- Sophia Nahli Allison
Allison went on to say that she "felt gaslit"and "deeply hurt"by the experience, but that she had "healed" over the years. Allison realized how dangerous the situation was when she read the claims made by Lizzo's dancers. Too often, people abuse their power in this way.
Allison said in a follow-up message that after her first post, she heard from people who had "very similar experiences" and got support from “people who witnessed what I went through.”
Lizzo creates an extremely toxic and hostile working environment and undermines thew work, labor, and authority of other black and brown woman in the process.- Sophia Nahli Allison

I was excited to support and protect a Black woman through the documentary process but quickly learned her image and ‘message’ was a curated facade. I stand with the dancers and anyone who has had similar experiences working with her and her team. These working conditions are not ok.- Sophia Nahli Allison
Along with what Allison said, some people have said that Beyoncé ignored Lizzo at her show in Foxborough, Massachusetts, on Tuesday night. Beyoncé shouts out the name of Lizzo in "Break My Soul (Queens Remix)," but the video of last night's performance seems to show that she skipped Lizzo's name and instead said Erykah Badu's name several times instead. Lizzo's name still showed up on a screen behind Bey, though.
Arianna Davis, Crystal Williams, and Noelle Rodriguez, three of Lizzo's former dancers, sued her on Tuesday. They said she made them feel bad about their weight and treated them badly sexually. The dancers say that when the singer was in Amsterdam for a concert, he asked them out for a night out that ended in the Red Light District of the city. According to the claim, Lizzo "pressured" them to "take turns touching the nude performers."
Lizzo hasn't said anything about the claims made against her on Tuesday yet. The claims were made by Crystal Williams, Arianna Davis, and Noelle Rodriguez, who all appeared with Lizzo on "The Special Tour." Lizzo's production business and the captain of her dance team, Shirlene Quigley, are also named as defendants.

Conclusion

Sophia Nahli Allison, a filmmaker nominated for an Oscar, called Lizzo a "narcissistic bully." The singer's image is still being called into question. The filmmaker was going to make a movie with Lizzo in 2019, but he backed out after spending two weeks with the singer.
Allison said that Lizzo was so "arrogant, unkind, and cruel" that she quit the project, in support of her three former dancers who are suing her for sexual harassment and creating a toxic work environment.
