Concerned Britney Spears Fans Call Police After Singer Deletes Instagram Account

Britney Spears is asking fans and the public once again to respect her privacy after the police were called to her house after she deleted her Instagram account. Spears said in a statement posted on Twitter.
I love and adore my fans, but this time things went a little too far and my privacy was invaded.- Britney Spears
Britney Spears posted a video of herself dancing on Instagram and saying, "I changed my name to River Red."The singer then deleted her account, which made fans call the Ventura County Sheriff's Office to make sure she was okay. Britney Spears said:
The police never entered my home and when they came to my gate they quickly realized there was no issue and left immediately.- Britney Spears
Spears's statement goes on to say:
This felt like I was being gaslit and bullied once the incident made it to the newsand being portrayed once again in a poor and unfair light by the media. During this time in my life, I truly hope the public and my fans who I care so much about can respect my privacy moving forward. All the love, B.- Britney Spears
A representative for the Ventura County Sheriff's Office said that deputies got a lot of calls Tuesday night around 11 p.m. from fans who were worried that Spears had deleted her Instagram account.
Out of an abundance of caution, we responded to her home for a check on her well-being and determined she was safe and in no danger.- Ventura County Sheriff's Office spokesperson
The singer has deleted and then reactivated her Instagram account several times in the past. She often uses it to vent about how frustrated she is that her conservatorship, which has since ended, limits what she can do and to talk to family members about problems. Her Twitter account is still up and running.
Fans have been worried about the singer's use of social media in the past, and last month, her husband Sam Asghari denied rumors that he decided what she posted on Instagram. The actor and fitness trainer, who is 28 years old, recently joked with photographers:
I don't even control what we have for dinner.- Sam Asghari
In the past, there has been a lot of stuff going on so I understand where [some fans are] coming from. They're just being protective. If anything they're being good fans.- Sam Asghari
Spears was forced to have her father act as her guardian for more than 13 years. This ended in late 2021 after a long legal battle. In August 2022, Spears posted a 22-minute audio message to YouTube in which she told her side of the story in detail and made shocking claims about her family.
“It was pure abuse,”she said of the conservatorship. “And I haven’t even really shared even half of it.”Speaking about her father, Spears said, “He loved to control everything I did.”
Spears has been in the news a lot over the last two years because of legal battles over her conservatorship, which was set up in 2008 and was mostly run by her father Jamie Spears until 2021. This led to the #freeBritney movement. Spears used Instagram as her main way to talk to her fans, but she has taken breaks from social media in the past.
