The Blind Side's Quinton Aaron Defends Sandra Bullock Amid Michael Oher's Tuohy Family Drama

Quinton Aaron, who played Michael Oher in the movie The Blind Side, which came out in 2009, is slamming the people who said Sandra Bullock should lose her Best Actress Oscar because of Oher's petition.
In an interview, Aaron was asked what he thought about the people who want Bullock's Oscar for playing Leigh Anne Tuohy, who Oher said tricked him into giving up his rights, to be taken away. Aaron said:
We live in a society today where people are so hellbent on pointing blame on people, and to make a statement like that doesn't make any sense. Sandra Bullock didn't have anything to do with the real story. ... That's like [saying] that she slapped me, so she should give her Oscar back. No pun intended to the Oscar thing that happened. ... I think people just need to chill out, relax.- Quinton Aaron
The Blind Side, which came out in 2009 and starred Sandra Bullock, Tim McGraw, and Quinton Aaron, was about a wealthy white couple named Sean and Leigh Anne Tuohy who took in a homeless black kid named Michael and helped him become one of the best football playersin the country.
In "The Blind Side," Aaron helped tell the story of how Oher grew up in foster care as one of 12 kids born to a mother with drug problems. Oher overcame his situation with his determination and athletic skills. He finally went to a private school, in part because of his athletic skills. In the movie, the Tuohys adopt Oher before his final year of high school and help him get into college, where he eventually gets picked first in the first round of the NFL draft in 2009.
The heartwarming story touched a lot of people around the world, especially since it was said to be based on real events. However, this week it came out that Michael, who is now 37, is suing the Tuohys, who are now 63, for allegedly not letting him make money from the movie.
But the movie's clean image was ruined this week when Oher, who is now 37, filed a case against the couple, who are thought to be worth $75 million. The lawsuit says that Oher found out in February that the conservatorship he agreed to because he thought it would make him a part of the Tuohy family did not give him any family ties.
At no point did the Tuohys inform Michael that they would have ultimate control of all his contracts, and as a result Michael did not understand that if the conservatorship was granted, he was signing away his right to contract for himselft- Michael Oher lawsuit
Oher also says that he signed away his life rights without knowing it and never made any money from "The Blind Side," even though the Tuohys arranged $225,000 and 2.5% of the film's "defined net profits" for themselves and their children. Sean Tuohy has denied making millions off the film. He told the Daily Memphian that everyone in the Tuohy family, including Oher, got an equal share of about $14,000 for the film. An attorney for the family also said that Oher threatened the Tuohys with "negative" press as part of a $15 million "shakedown" before Monday's filing.

Conclusion

Quinton Aaron is defending his former co-star Sandra Bullock after Michael Oher, who inspired "The Blind Side," said in a court statement this week that he was never adopted by the Tuohy family. This has led to calls for Bullock to give up her Oscar.
Bullock got an Oscar for best actress in 2010 for her role as Leigh Anne Touhy in "The Blind Side," which told the story of how Michael Oher went from being in foster care to becoming an NFL star. The movie is based on a book by writer Michael Lewis, and it shows how the Tuohy family adopts Oher. But Oher said the adoption was a lie in papers he sent to a family court in Shelby County, Tennessee, on Monday.
