Taylor Swift's Eras Tour has started, and fans have been sharing classic concert videos to get people excited about her upcoming shows. The production values are top-notch, and the pop princess wears different outfits for each of her musical eras and sings more than 40 songs from her catalog. (Some of these are old favorites, like "Our Song")
Almost every fan seems to want to be at one of these events, and Taylor Swift fans expose the cost of their eras tour ticketsand it's more than you might think.
A BuzzFeedwriter who was able to go to the concert talked to some of the other people there. The reporter asked them how much it cost to see Swift on tour and where they were sitting.
The prices for the tickets were said to be in the thousands, which was, to say the least, shocking. A gym owner who was sitting on the floor near the stage said he paid $3000 for his Eras tickets and added:
This is my first of five nights I'm going for this tour. I'm right in front of the catwalk. I wanted to be as close as possible to celebrate this milestone with Taylor.
Is your wallet yelling at you right now? Another fan who got a seat on the floor paid $1,400 for it. Even though that's a lot of money to spend on a concert, they don't seem to be sorry about it: I got my tickets last night, which is so last minute. Sure, I paid a lot. But my ass belongs here in that floor seat.
The floor seats are almost always the most expensive, but other tickets all over the stadium were also very expensive. Some people were able to get tickets at face-value prices, but many were not.
During the show, the reporter talked to two fans who said they bought nosebleed seats for around $500. When asked how they feel about spending so much money, one of them said:
I missed the reputation tour in 2018 when I moved from Boston to here, so I've been waiting for this concert for a very, very long time.
That's not all, either. Fans were also honest on Reddit about how much their Eras seats cost. During the infamous Ticketmaster fiasco, many people said they bought tickets in a rush because they were in such high demand. One fan told us:
[I paid] $4,350 for 4 VIP tickets (2nd row). Did not care for the VIP but wanted a good floor seat and grabbed the first ones available. I feel like I overpaid but happy I have tickets.
These numbers may be hard to take as a whole, but for many Swifties, it's hard to imagine missing this tour. All of Taylor Swift's music from the last 20 years will be played at the concert, which is being billed as the high point of her career.
Videos of the concert are going viral online, which adds to the huge amount of buzz. Eras is on track to be one of the most successful tours of all time, and Swift seems determined to give her fans a show that is worth their money.
After "historic demand" caused Ticketmaster to mess up, the singer's most loyal online fans jumped into action to get each other into the Eras Tour at fair prices and Taylor Swift fans expose the cost of their eras tour tickets.
Fans will definitely be watching the tour as it goes on. In the meantime, fans who want to see one of Taylor Swift's concerts can stream her 2018 concert film, Taylor Swift Reputation Stadium Tour, which is now available to anyone with a Netflix account.
